THOMASTON – Mrs. Christina (Lima) Andrade, 88, of Thomaston, passed away on Wednesday morning, Feb. 19, 2014 at Waterbury Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the widow of Mr. Anthony Andrade.

Christina was born on March 5, 1925 in Bristol, RI, daughter of the late Joseph and Angelina Lima. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Church in Thomaston for a number of years and a past member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. Christina loved taking trips to the casino and spending time with her friends at the Thomaston Senior Center. She cherished the time she was able to spend with her family and will be greatly missed.

Christina is survived by her children, Christine Giannattasio and her husband, Joseph, of Plainville, Elizabeth Guarnieri of Collinsville, Deborah Andrade of Hamden, and Robert Andrade of Plainville; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Judy Andrade; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Richard Andrade and Ronald Andrade; and five brothers and sisters, Frank Lima, Joseph Lima, Aurora Barboza, Telvina Barboza and Angelina Manchester.

Arrangements: Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church, 1 E. Main St., Thomaston. Prayers of Committal will be held in Hillside Cemetery in the Spring. Family and friends may call on Friday evening, Feb. 21 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are asked to me made in Christina’s name to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT 06492
