THOMASTON - Peter Joseph Isabelle, 65, was reunited with his wife, Mary, in heaven on the 5th of July, 2014.
He was born in Winsted, Conn. on August 17 1948, son of the late Absolom and Rose Marie Isabelle.
Known as an all-around athlete, Peter competed in sports starting in his youth - both in basketball and baseball. This carried on into high school where he won many athletic awards, and the praise from teachers and coaches for years to follow.
Peter graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Central Connecticut State University where he went on to work for CBT for many years. He then became interested in the Board of Education, specifically transportation, and worked for the towns of Watertown and Westport. He also took great pride working as a sexton in Thomaston.
As an adult, everyone knew him to be a sports enthusiast; who could be found on the tennis court, the golf green, fishing in New Hampshire, or even taking a small bike trip from Canada to Connecticut.
He enjoyed the Red Sox, comedy, dinners with his family, and the occasional good cigar and Coors Light.
Peter was loved and will be missed by all of his siblings: Eugene, Francis, Charlie, and Lillian. Along with their wives: Beatrice, Margaret, Sheila, and Barbara. He was predeceased by one brother, Robert Isabelle.
He was the father to Alycia and Taylor, and the loving Papa Pierre to Sierra and Jada, his granddaughters. Many nieces and nephews have looked up to Peter, affectionately remembering him as the funny uncle with great "dirty" jokes.
Many vacations were spent down in Tennessee with his longtime friends, Brian and Shelly DiMartino. He will be greatly missed by his very special and loyal friend, Maggie, his Black Lab.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 12, at 11:30 A.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:30 A.M. until time of service. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
