Plymouth - Charles Joseph DellaCamera of Plymouth, husband to Elizabeth (Bettie Harrigan) DellaCamera died on November 3,2017, leaving a loving legacy of joy, perseverance, and involvement in the priorities of his life, family, church, and community. Charles was born in Waterbury, CT and was the son of Alexander and Maria (Dora) Cuillo.

Charles was a graduate of Waterbury Wilby High School, class of 1953. He attended Teacher's College of New Britain, CT and served in the U.S Naval Reserves on the heavy cruiser Canberra for six years and was honorably discharged in 1957.

Charles was a vital part of his family. Married to Bettie in 1959, he became a loving father to Charles (Chuck) DellaCamera of Plymouth, Mary DellaCamera of Terryville, and Anne Harrigan of Woodbury. Grandchildren include Meagan Scott, Rachael Parsons, and Eric Klaneski. Charles was also the proud great grandfather to twins Natalie and Christine Klaneski, and Mackenzie Parsons. Charles was also the brother of deceased Stephen, Alexander, and John DellaCamera. Sister in-laws include Ann, Dorothy, and MaryAnn.

Charles was a dedicated member of the St. Thomas Parish, where he served on the council, CCD teacher, Eucharistic Minister, and a Deputy Grand Knight, part of the Knight of Columbus Council 18. Charles also served as a member on the Board of Education, was a chairperson of the Terryville Library Board of Director with involvement on the building committee. Charles then continued service on the Board of Tax Review and was a proud member of the Police Commission. Charles was employed by Ehler's Spices for 20 years, Foud Enterprises for 4 years, and McCormick Spices and Extracts for 5 years, retiring in 1995. Charles met many challenges when illness pervaded his life in 1995. Perseverance, patience, and love carried Charles when disabilities were prevalent. Charles dedicated his life toward survival and his faith in God and family sustained his efforts.

The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas Church in Thomaston on Wednesday, November 8, at 10:00 A.M. Prior to the mass, condolences may be presented starting at 9:30 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the Plymouth Food Pantry, 20 Dewey Ave, Terryville, CT.
