Mrs Dorothea Ober Kordis

Thomaston – Mrs. Dorothea (Ober) Kordis, 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 12, in the presence of her family. She was the widow of Paul Kordis.
Mrs. Kordis was born March 10, 1921 in Northfield, daughter of the late Alice and William Gill. She had worked at Seth Thomas Clock Company and at the Black Rock School in the lunch program. A longtime and active member of St. Peter’s Trinity Church, she had served as president and treasurer of the Episcopal Church Women, was a member of the Altar Guild and sang in the choir.
She is survived by one son, Stephen P. Kordis of WV; three daughters, Judith Kordis of Thomaston, Mary Boucher and her husband Richard of Watertown and Paula Kummer and her husband David of CO; six grandchildren, Matthew Kummer, Kelsey Luciano (Vittorio), Brett Conrad (Michael), Taylor Boucher, Shawn Boucher (Emily) and Scott Boucher (Jaime) and five great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Vitas and the 5th floor staff at Waterbury Hospital for the loving care they provided.
Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 15, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. in Thomaston. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter’s Trinity Church in Thomaston. Burial will be in the spring in Hillside Cemetery.
