Thomaston – Jacqueline Van Buren, 92, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. She was the wife of the late Richard Van Buren.

Jacqueline was born in Batesville, Indiana, to the late George Thiel and Mary (Schneider) Clarkin. She was a member of St. Thomas Church, and attended the Senior Citizen group in Green Manor. A proud homemaker until the age of 55; when Jacqueline lost her husband of 35 years, she got her driver’s license and started working. She enjoyed crafts, bingo, camping, Sunday rides, and trips to the cottage in NH.

Jacqueline is survived by her sons, Richard Van Buren, and his wife, Eleanor, of Thomaston; Steven Van Buren, and his wife, Darlene, of Northfield; and David Van Buren; her daughter, Diane Zwick, and her husband, Robert, of Morris; six grandchildren, Charles, Daniel, David, Nathan, Robert, and Thomas; two great-grandchildren, Addison and Elliot; and many nieces and nephews.

Including her husband, Richard, and her parents, George and Mary, Jacqueline is predeceased by her step-father, Philip Clarkin; and her brothers, Richard and Edward Thiel.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 18 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 1 East Main St., Thomaston. Meet directly at church. Burial will be held in the Spring.
