Obituary

Tucson, Arizona- Mr. Aaron M. Bunnell, 40, formerly of Thomaston, died Wednesday, March 23, in Arkansas as the result of a motor vehicle accident with his faithful dog, Patience, by his side. He was the husband of Tammy (Markel) Bunnell. Aaron was born December 9, 1970 in Bridgeport son of Michael E. and Adrene M. (Day) Bunnell of Thomaston. He was raised in Thomaston, attended local schools and was a graduate of Oliver Wolcott Technical High School in Torrington, class of 1988. Aaron has lived in Tucson since 1996, while living in Thomaston he had been a member of the Thomaston Volunteer Fire Department. He had served honorably in the Army National Guard and will be remembered for his love of animals. He was an avid outdoorsman, gold prospector and a member of the Gold Prospectors of America. In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by three step-sons, Kenneth Paul Bunnell, David Peter Bunnell, Jr and Jerry Ernest Bunnell all of Torrington (David and Jerry are both in Army National Guard); two brothers, Jason W. Bunnell of Little Creek, WI and Brandon L. Bunnell of Thomaston; his maternal grandfather, Worden F. Day and his wife Rita of Terryville; his mother-in-law, Ruth Louise Hamilton of Winsted and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by a step-daughter, Jennifer Louise Bunnell and his paternal grandparents, William and Ida Sabia and his maternal grandmother, Kathleen (Murphy) Day. Arrangements: A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, March 28, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church in Thomaston. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, March 27, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston.
