Obituary

Thomaston - Almon A. Coon (Poochie) passed away peacefully on April 18th 2023. He was born in Great Barrington, MA on June 28, 1939. He leaves behind four children, two sons David Coon and Michael Coon (predeceased) and two daughters, Cheryl Grandpre and husband Keith and Janet Tomakin and her husband Shane all of Torrington; four grandchildren, Jeremy Muhlbaier and his wife Heather, Aidan Coon and his girlfriend Rebecca, Noah Tomakin, Rebecka Dinwoodie and her husband Joseph. He was predeceased by his parents & all his siblings. He had worked at Pioneer Volkswagen for many years and then worked for Tech Systems. He was in the Army National Guard and was discharged honorably. He enjoyed fishing, going to Black Rock and at Point Folly with a readers digest and sitting outside on the bench shooting the breeze with his friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Barchini, Dr. Antonopolous and Kara (his nurse) and his neighbors for looking out for him. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 9, at 11:00 A.M. at the Hillside Cemetery in Thomaston.
