Barbara Duncan, 95, passed peacefully on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 after a brief illness at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of the late Charles L (Scotty) Duncan. Barbara was born on June 7, 1921 in Bridgeport, CT to Ronald Walters and Eva Walters Dixson. She was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, worked as an X-Ray Technician, was a local businesswoman, and a member of the First Congregational Church of Thomaston, the Womens Club and the Bridge Club. Mrs. Duncan is survived by her daughter Judith West of CO and her sons Craig L Duncan of TN, Charles R Duncan and his wife, Natalie, of Thomaston, James H Duncan and his wife, Pamela, of NC, Jeffrey M Duncan and his wife, Anna, of AZ, 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 5 nieces and nephews. Mrs. Duncan is pre-deceased by her daughter-in-law Cassie (Stevens) Duncan and her longtime companion Dr Clifford T Conklin. Known to her friends as Bobby, Mrs. Duncan has been a resident of Thomaston since 1953. She loved caring for her family and friends, reading, her flowers gardens, playing bridge with her friends, early American furniture and her pets. Services for Mrs. Duncan will be announced in the springtime. Contributions can be made in her memory to the Thomaston Volunteer Ambulance Corp and the American Cancer Society.
