Obituary

Carolyn Wehrle Mueller, 79 of Plymouth, CT died Tuesday, February 9th at home surrounded by her family. Born on October 11, 1930, in Waterbury, CT, she was the daughter of the late Alfred K. and Ernestine (Cuss) Wehrle. She was predeceased by her parents, an infant sister Rosemary, and her devoted spouse and lifes dancing partner, Guenter K Mueller. She was a graduate of Thomaston High School, the St. Raphael School of Nursing and Southern Connecticut State College. She cared for many Thomaston youth as a nurse and innovative health instructor at Black Rock Elementary School until her retirement in 1998. She was an active member of St. Thomas Church in which her stewardship took many forms over the years including: teaching religious education, parish council, Eucharistic Minister, and more recently, the development of a Bereavement ministry. She was also a volunteer for the Thomaston Opera House, a member of the Red Hat Society and a friend to both the Hermann Soehne Leiderkranz and Barnstormers singing societies. She leaves her five children: Christine Lafleche and her husband John of Sturbridge MA; Cecelia Petrowski and her husband Steven of Meriden; Frederick Mueller and his wife Mille of Cromwell; Paula Mueller of Portland, ME; and Mark Mueller and his significant other Cassy Sak of Terryville; a brother, Alfred L Wehrle, of Deland, FL; a sister-in law, Charlotte Muller of Germany, several nieces, many cousins, friends, and especially her lifelong friend Hilda Wehrle. She was most proud of her nine grandchildren: Andrea, Eric and Adrienne Lafleche; Paul, Carolyn and Luke Petrowski; and Karl Douglass, Maximillian, and Annamarie Mueller. Arrangements: The family will hold calling hours on Sunday, February 14, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM, at the Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High Street Thomaston, CT. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Thomas Church of Thomaston, Monday February 15th for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Thomas Church Kitchen Renewal Fund, 19 Electric Ave, Thomaston, CT 06787.
