. Northfield- Mrs. Charlotte (Carter) Haynes, 69, died July 8, 2009 at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. She was the wife of Russell Nelson Haynes. Mrs. Haynes was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on March 21, 1940, the daughter of the late Lester and Yetta (Pekalis) Carter. Charlotte was a retired medical transcriptionist, formerly with several medical institutions including Waterbury Hospital, Naugatuck Valley Surgical Center and most recently Opticare. In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter, Veronica Haynes of Wilton; one son, Russell Vernon Haynes of Torrington; two brothers,, Philip Carter, Sr and Rubin Carter; one sister, Edy (Carter) Hekimian and her grandchildren, Carter and Rita Sramek-Haynes.
