Thomaston- Mr. Clifford O. Ives, 82, of Babbitt Rd. died Wednesday, July 30 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. He was the husband of Alice (Williams) Ives. Mr. Ives was born in Thomaston on September 22, 1925 son of the late Edwin R. and Leva (Osborn) Ives, Sr. A lifelong resident of Thomaston he attended local schools and had attended Thomaston High School. He retired from Plume and Atwood after many years working in the payroll department. He had enjoyed bowling, golfing, the Boston Red Sox and was an avid card player. In addition to his wife he is survived by one brother, Edwin R. Ives, Jr of Terryville; his sister-in-law Dorothy Weeks and her husband Richard of Thomaston; his nieces and nephews, Donald Weeks of Thomaston, Richard Weeks, Jr and his wife Diane of Thomaston, Thomas Weeks of NH, Rod and Sandy Ives of Terryville, Robert Ives of Terryville, Nancy Morton of FL, Chris and Richard Ploszaj of NC, Tom and Linda Ives of NC and Genie and Earl Anthony of NY as well as his God-Son, David Axelby and his wife Patti. Arrangements: A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1 at 11:00 A.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston with the Rev. William Hawley officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
