Obituary

Dale Gangloff aged 70, passed away peacefully in her home Sunday August 16th in the company of her family after a long illness. She was born October 19th 1938, the daughter of the late Ward Ferry and survived by Olive (Deming) Ferry. She is survived by her husband of 50-years, Roger Gangloff. Besides her husband she leaves two sons, Roy Gangloff of Brattleboro Vermont, Carl Gangloff of Torrington CT. Four Daughters, Kathy Roman of Thomaston CT, Cheryl Hubble of Burlington Ct, Patricia Rogozinski of Thomaston CT, Renee Johnson of Terryville CT, thirteen-Grandchildren, comprising eleven-boys and two-girls and one-Great-Grandchild. She leaves a Mother, Olive Ferry of Terryville CT, a brother, Maynard Ferry of Harwinton CT, a sister, Patricia Kopcha of Terryville CT. She was predeceased by a brother Ward Ferry Jr., of Terryville CT. She was a graduate of Terryville High School and went on to graduate from Bay Path College with an Associates Degree. While raising 6-children she received a Bachelors Degree in Art from Central Connecticut University with honors. She went on to receive a Masters Degree in Art from Central Connecticut University. She was employed as an Art Teacher in Litchfield before retiring in 2000. She was an accomplished artist in her own right, winning awards and accolades in many disciplines. Keeping with the progression of time, she created and taught digital media when the industry was in its infancy. The family is blessed with many lasting mementos of her creation. She was an avid Tennis player, Golfer and Outdoorswomen. She and her husband enjoyed traveling the country, making many journeys to Alaska as well as the Florida Keys. She enjoyed the beauty life offered and portrayed this through her many works. Arrangements: Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, August 20 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 5PM to 8PM on Wednesday August 19th at the Lyons Funeral Home in Thomaston.
