Northfield - Dana L. Freimuth, Sr., 60, of Northfield, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Hartford Hospital.
Dana was born in Waterbury on October 4, 1952, the son of the late Edward Emil Freimuth, Sr. and Virginia (Leigh) Freimuth. He went to Litchfield High School where he graduated in 1970. Dana worked for Lyons Pontiac in his younger years. Later on, he was employed with Charter Oak Container, and he owned his own sheet rock taping business for many years. Currently, he worked for maintenance at Clearwater of Litchfield.
Dana was an avid sports fan, always watching the New York Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys in his infamous breezeway at his Northfield residence. He also enjoyed golfing with his sons and daughter-in-law, and playing fantasy baseball and football with his family and friends. Dana adored his grandson, Aidan, who he would spend time drawing or playing Legos with.
Dana leaves behind three sons, Dana Jr. of Northfield and his wife Kirstie, Luke of Thomaston and his wife Kathleen, and Christopher of San Fransisco; two brothers, Gary and Edward both of Northfield, and one grandson, Aidan. Dana was predeceased by a sister, Lisa.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, at 11 a.m. at The Covenant Church, 64 Grove St., Thomaston. Friends may call on Friday, January 4, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston.
