Terryville Daphne A. (Bishop) Ball, 73, of Terryville, passed away on February 2, 2023 at Bristol Hospital. She was the loving wife of Kevin Ball. Daphne was born on June 6, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa, daughter of the late Charles and Jeanette (Neal) Bishop. She grew up in Westport, CT where she met Kevin on a blind date. They married in August 1969 and were together for 53 years. Daphne was a "wild child" who once attempted to hitchhike across the country before being apprehended and carted home by police. That run away was in the newspaper. She enjoyed crocheting but was horrible at it so she gifted uneven blankets with holes to loved ones. She also enjoyed reading mystery books and was never seen without an unsweetened iced tea with a lot of ice. Daphne worked as a home health aide and at Vaughns Pharmacy in Wolcott for a number of years. She was also a huge lover of dogs is survived by her current dog, Nutmeg. Besides her husband, Kevin, Daphne is survived by her children Jodi, Megan, Colin, and adopted daughter Amber; four grandchildren, Rachel, Garrett, Kamden, and Charlie; her brother, Barry Bishop and his wife Juanita of Pennsylvania; her aunt JoAnn Neal and her companion Leona from Des Moines, Iowa; her nephew Brian of Pennsylvania; and her best friend of 50 years who she considered a sister, Dottie Parker.
