Northfield Mr. David "Dave" Franklin Angell, III, 63, of Northfield, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Sue (Petke) Angell. Dave was born on December 13, 1953 in Waterbury, son of David F. Angell Jr., and Elizabeth (Antonio) Angell. Dave graduated from W.F. Kaynor Technical High School in 1972. Dave was a proud Eagle Scout, a rank he achieved in 1971 with CT River Council BSA Troop 39 at St. Francis Xavier Church in Waterbury. Dave worked as a steel worker for many years before retiring. He enjoyed all outdoor activities including, gardening, hunting, and bird watching. Dave enjoyed going for long rides and antiquing. He also loved traveling to Fort Myers Beach in Florida where he spent many summer vacations. Besides his wife, Sue and parents, David and Elizabeth, Dave is survived by his sister, Karen DePara and her husband Pete; and his nephew Peter; and niece Kayla. Family and friends may call on Thursday, May 25 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
