Thomaston Diane A. Elwood, 72, passed away on Sunday, October 13, at Waterbury Hospital. Diane was born June 30, 1952, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Donald W. and Lillian A. (Matson) Elwood. Raised in Thomaston, she attended local schools and was a graduate of Thomaston High School, class of 1970. She attended the University of Bridgeport where she received her BS in Biology. After receiving her degree, Diane went on to have a long career with MacDermid in Waterbury working in the research and development of new products. Diane was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Thomaston in which she served many roles. Diane cherished spending time with her family, friends, and church family. She loved Sunday dinners with her family, nights out at Seven Angels, and lunch with the girls. She had a keen intellect, gentle soul, and big heart. She is survived by her brother, Donnie Elwood and his wife Judith of Thomaston; one niece, Katie St. John; one nephew, Matthew Elwood; one great nephew, Christopher St. John and many cousins. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, at 10:30 A.M. at Our Savior Lutheran Church 505 South Main St. Thomaston. Burial is private.
