Thomaston Diane J. Gomes-Pelkey, 66, of Thomaston, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the loving wife of Robert Pelkey. Diane was born on January 28, 1956 in Waterbury, daughter of Theresa Gomes-OConnor and the late Joseph Gomes. Diane worked for prime components until her time of illness as a quality insurance inspector. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed watching the humming birds in her flowers gardens. She also loved fishing, antiquing, the casino and bingo. She was a dog lover and raised many golden retrievers with her husband. Besides her husband, Robert, and mother, Theresa, Diane is survived by two sisters, Patricia Kirschbaum and her twin Donna Valenti and her husband Sebastian; brother William OConner; four nieces Dawn, Jessica, Emily, and Meghan; and one nephew, William; one great-niece and several great-nephews. She also leaves behind her dog Ernie. Her brother Joseph Gomes; her stepfather William OConner; and her nephew John LeBlanc predeceased her. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on September 29, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church, 1 E. Main St., Thomaston. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
