Thomaston- Mr. Donald Z. Moore, 81, of Hillside Ave. died Tuesday, September 4 at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. He was the husband of Georgina (Ciafrei) Moore. Mr. Moore was born December 10, 1925 in West Berlin, NJ son of the late P. Stanley and Maria (Sexton) Moore. He moved to Thomaston in 1985, was a Navy veteran of WWII and was a member of the American Legion Clifford French Post in Thomaston. He had retired from the Bristol Press in Bristol. He was an avid golfer and belonged to the Mens league of the Eastwood Country Club in Torrington. A fun loving Irishman he was a fan of Notre Dame Football and UCONN womens basketball. In addition to his wife of 47 years he is survived by two daughters, Teressa M. Bocci and her husband Anthony of Thomaston and Coleen M. Cartelli and her husband Anthony of Barkhamsted; one brother, Walter B. Moore of Ormond Beach, FL and four grandchildren, Carolyn Cartelli, Christopher Cartelli, David Bocci and Paul Bocci. Arrangements: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 8 at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
