Thomaston- Mr. Donald G. Wilcox, 76, died Wednesday, February 24, at Cook Willow Health Center in Plymouth. He was the beloved husband of Janet (Russell) Wilcox. Mr. Wilcox was born June 23, 1933 in Waterbury, son of the late Robert and Hazel (Pronovost). He had attended Levenworth High School and grew up in Waterville and served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War receiving the Korean Service medal, good conduct medal and national defense service medal. Don worked for many years in Machine and Tool as a set-up and operator at Multi Precision in Watertown until his retirement. He and Janet were avid bowlers together and before he was married he played softball. He liked to fish and loved spending time with his family, he had great pride for his wife and children. Most recently Don found enjoyment in swimming. The family holds great gratitude for the staff and nurses at Cook Willow for treating Don with wonderful care and compassion as if he was a member of their family. In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by three daughters; Shari Cook and her husband Scott of Kensington, CT, Carol Hale and husband Lew of Redding, CT, Traci Oakes and husband Scottty of Plymouth; a brother Robert Wilcox and his wife Lucy of Plymouth; five grandchildren; several brother and sister in laws; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Arrangements: A funeral service will be held Saturday, directly at the First Congregational Church of Thomaston at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be private. The family request, in lieu of flowers; memorial contributions be made, in his name, to Cook Willow Health Center, 81 Hillside Ave, Plymouth, CT 06782.
