Mrs. Dorothy Pearl (Craig) Costick
Thomaston Dorothy P. Costick, 86, formerly of Green Manor, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at the Marathon Health Care Center of Waterbury. She was the widow of Thomas G. Costick.
Mrs. Costick was born December 23, 1921 daughter of the late Murdice and Gladys (Daggett) Craig. She left Maine at the age of 19 to work for the OSS in Washington, D.C. during WWII, where she met her husband. She was a retired employee of the Torrington Company after 23 years. Dorothy was a member of the First Congregational Church of Thomaston, the Ladies Auxiliary of Thomaston, the American Legion and past Sergeant of Arms, Post 22 of Thomaston. She enjoyed spending her time at the race track, visiting her sisters and had a love for the Red Sox, playing golf and her family. Dorothys quick wit and cooking talents will be greatly missed. She will be remembered for saying, "I dont want to miss anything".
She is survived by two sons, Thomas P. Costick of Thomaston, Kim Costick of New Jersey, two daughters Kerrie and her husband David Leveillee of Thomaston, Patricia and her husband Russ Mowry of New Hampshire, a brother, Alvin Craig of Massachusetts, a sister Lucille Anderson of New Hampshire, a grandchild, a great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Rachel Hastings, Pauline Stone, and Esther Parker.
Arrangements: A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the First Congregational Church of Thomaston. Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston has care of the arrangements. Burial will be private.
