THOMASTON - Dorothy (Bergman) Norton, 71, died suddenly Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Hartford Hospital. Dorothy was born on July 5, 1940 in Waterbury a daughter of the late Nils and Bertha (Kellerman) Bergman and lived in Thomaston most of her life. She was a 1958 graduate of Thomaston High School and a 1961 graduate of the former Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing. She was retired as a Registered Nurse and most recently had worked for over 20 years with the VNA Hospice. Dorothy enjoyed the simple pleasures like gardening, casual walks and animals. She leaves a son, Jonathan Norton of Torrington; two sisters, Janet Blakeslee of Litchfield and Judith Mitrowski of South Windsor; a brother, Edwin Bergman of Avon and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Carl Bergman. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 17th at 10:00 a.m. at the Hillside Cemetery in Thomaston. There are no calling hours.
