Thomaston- Mrs. Edith Marie (Reardon) Beardslee, 85, a lifelong resident of Thomaston passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 23 surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frederick "Ted" Beardslee in 1973. She was also predeceased by three sisters, Shirley, Eleanor and Grace as well as three brothers, Jack, Edward and Robert. Edith is survived by her four children, William Beardslee of Keene, NH, Mark Beardslee of Thomaston, Holly Beardslee of Thomaston and Sandra Beardslee Slusarczyk of Marlborough. She was also blessed with 10 grandchildren, Shalan Beardslee Paul, Amber Mahar Fields, Jayson Rogers, Luke Beardslee, Ben Rogers, Silas Beardslee, Kelly Beardslee, Bethany Slusarczyk, Casey Beardslee and Michael Slusarczyk as well as one great grandchild on the way. Edith enjoyed family gatherings, dancing, the beach, the sun, tanning, camping, gardening, canning, refinishing furniture, crocheting, shopping, playing cards, crafts and painting. She recently won several first, second and third place ribbons for crafts and paintings entered in the Harwinton Fair. Ediths creativity also included award winning Halloween costumes for her children in their school years. In addition she loved going to the casinos. Edith was dearly loved by her family. She enjoyed many precious moments with them even though her health was a challenge in later years. She will be truly missed but her memory and love will forever be in their hearts. Arrangements: A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peters Trinity Episcopal Church, 160 Main St. Thomaston. Burial in Hillside Cemetery will be private.
