Terryville Mr. Edward J. Gwizd, 74, Passed away peacefully at the Bristol Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Linda (Wrisley) Gwizd. Edward was born September 29, 1949, in Waterbury, son the late John S. and Mary (Belonick) Gwizd. Raised in Waterbury he attended local schools and was a graduate of Crosby High School. He had served honorably in the United States Air Force. He worked for many years as a screw machine operator and will be remembered for his love of sports. He coached football and baseball for many years and was an avid fan of Thomaston Youth Athletics. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Todd E. Gwizd and his wife Jennifer of Watertown, Scott A. Gwizd and his fianc Melissa Papapietro of Plymouth and John C. Gwizd and his wife Melissa of Thomaston; one daughter, Becky L. Binette and her husband George of Terryville; his siblings, Artie, Nora, Carol and Mary; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson, Scott Allen Gwizd, Jr. Private inurnment with full military honors will take place at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown.
