Litchfield Eileen (Cronkhite) Calkins, 78, passed away on Sunday, October 29, at Valerie manor in Torrington. She was the widow of John Calkins. Eileen was born July 13, 1945, in Bristol, daughter of the late Joseph and Annie (Highland) Cronkhite. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son, Daniel Ruquist and his wife Jennifer of Litchfield; her daughter, Kristen Arnold and her husband Thomas of Ogunquit, ME; her sister, Louise Ostroski of Bristol; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Inurnment will take place on January 6, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. Following the service in Middletown a reception will be held at Ciao Restaurant in Thomaston.
