Thomaston - Eleanor Lauretano- Osowiecki, 93, of Thomaston passed away on October 13, 2022 at Litchfield Woods in Torrington. She was proceeded in death by her first husband Anthony R Lauretano Jr. and second husband, Henry Osowiecki Sr.
Eleanor was born on June 26, 1929 in Thomaston, daughter of the late Konstanty and Josephine (Rimkoski) Grohoski. She was a lifetime Thomaston Resident and longtime member of St Thomas Church. She attended local schools and graduated from Thomaston High School. Eleanor was a stay at home mother for her children as they were growing up and all of the other children in the neighborhood new that if they needed anything that they could go to Mrs. Ls for comfort, aid or a snack. She worked for Gilbert Spring Company and later for Seth Thomas Clocks Patent Department as an Executive Secretary to thePatent Attorney shortly after the passing of husband Anthony. Eleanor also enjoyed crocheting and sewing clothing, gardening, sitting in the sun, reading, and spending time with her loving family.
Eleanor is survived by her children, David Lauretano and Louanne, Eleanor and Richard Van Buren, Anthony R LauretanoIII and Virginia (Ginny) Peter Lauretano and Teresa, Carla and Robert Laffey; step-children, Henry (JR) Osowiecki and Caroline, Jan Osowiecki, Gregory, Osowiecki, Rebecca Osowiecki, James (Jimmy) Osowiecki and Lorii; 19 grandchildren, Stephanie, Jolene, Angela, Christopher, Nicole, Alexa, Toni Rae, Dana, Jennifer, David, Ami, Greg, Jeff, Johnathon, Beth, Jodi, Matthew, Nathan, Leah; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Riley, and Carol Perraultandtwo sisters in -law; Siska Manuel and Barbra Grohoski. She is predeceased by her siblings, Ted and (Eva May), Benny, Eddie and Cynthia, Raymond and Betty, Sylvia and Billy Foley, and Gerald, and Stepson Ludwig (Babe) Osowiecki.
A funeral Mass will be held on October 20, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church, 1 East Main St., Thomaston. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
