Thomaston - Elly E. Sears, 65, passed away on July 8, 2018 at Vitas Hospice in Waterbury, CT. Born January 11, 1953 in Torrington, CT, Elly was the daughter of the late Barbara Wetzler Coley and Robert Wetzler. Before her retirement Elly was employed as a Senior Crisis Counselor at Waterbury Hospital. Elly is survived by her two children, Joe Henriques and his wife JeeSoo and their children, Tristan and JiEun; Erica Crea and her husband Jason and their children Hunter and Scout; her brother Mark Sears and his wife Pam; her longtime and best friend of 27 years, Debra Young and Debs grandchildren Keith, Thomas and Alex Young; several nieces, nephews and cousins and many dear friends. Elly was predeceased by her mother Barbara and stepfather, Bob; her brother Tim Sears and her sister Barb Kennette. The family would like to thank the staff at Vitas Hospice at St. Marys Hospital in Waterbury for their wonderful care of Elly during her final days. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, July 18, from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Northfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please donate a twin blanket to Vitas at St. Marys for their hospice patients.
