Frances (Hewett)( Simmons) Johnson Northfield Northfield- Frances M. Johnson, 89 of Sears Dr., died Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Marathon Health Care Center in Torrington. She was the widow to Edwin Simmons, Phillip Johnson and Harold Johnson. Frances was born May 8, 1919 in Bennington, VT, daughter to the late Frank and Fanny (Brockway) Hewett. She retired as a machine operator from Thomaston Special Tool years ago. She was a former communicant of St. Peter Trinity Episcopal church of Thomaston. Fran enjoyed listening to Country Music and was a president of the Kenny Roberts Fan Club. Frances is survived by six sons, Terry Simmons, William Simmons, James Simmons, Godfrey Wells, Noel Wells, Michael Martin, three daughters, Judy Murgatroy, Dorie Williams, Cheryl Peck, a brother, Sterling Hewett, forty six grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements: Services are private. A graveside service will be held May 8th at 12:00 P.M. Burial will be in Northfield Cemetery. Lyons Funeral Home of Thomaston has been entrusted with her care.
