Thomaston- Mrs. Gaylene (Rowland) Nageotte, 56, died Tuesday, February 3, at St. Marys Hospital surrounded by loved ones. She was the widow of Raymond P. Nageotte.
Happy, compassionate, loving, caring and creative. These are the traits that Gaylene Rowland Nageotte radiated onto everyone she knew. Gaylene was born October 6, 1958 in Derby and was the daughter of late Edward Phillip and Joan Marie (Favreau) Rowland, Jr. She was raised in Oxford and was a graduate of Seymour High School in 1977. Gaylene was a happy-go-lucky type of person who loved to have fun and always knew how to put a smile on someones face. She always put others first and lived life to its fullest. Her hobbies included crafting of many sorts and spending time in nature, but her favorite hobby was helping others. The passion she had for her work as a recreational director helped to make the lives of others richer. She didnt do it because she had to but because she loved to. She would go above and beyond to make sure that she put a smile on each persons face and never asked for anything g in return. Watching her grandson grow was also one of the many things that brought her joy. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. For those of you lucky enough to know Gaylene, you can agree that our lives are richer from the relationship and that she will always be missed but forever in our hearts.
She is survived by her son, William E. "Billy" Ryder and his wife Sara of Terryville; her step-son, Jeffrey R. Nageotte and his wife Alissa of Billerica, MA; two brothers, Edward T. Rowland of Oxford and David P. Rowland and his wife Denise of Middletown; one grandson, Aiden J. Ryder and her nieces and nephews, Michelle, Sarah, Eddie, David and Nicky.
