Thomaston George W. Archer, 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Hartford Hospital with his loving family by his side after an extended illness. George was born in Torrington on July 24, 1947 to the late Truman and Julia (Glass) Archer. He was a Navy veteran who proudly served on the USS Intrepid during the Vietnam War. He loved hunting, fishing, bird watching, playing his accordion and his beautiful gardens. He is survived by his wife, Marge (Klaneski) Archer; his step-sons, Paul (Melissa Ives) Gill; and Jimmy (Amanda) Gill; his step-grandchildren, Paul E and Sam Gill; Aneisha and Justin Buffum; His sister, Sandra (George) Andrews; his brothers, Truman (Cindy) Archer; Doug (Karen) Archer; sister in law, Barbara Archer; sister in law and brother in laws, Bill and Cyndi Klaneski; Mary and Brian Ball; and Maureen and Dave Fairchild; and numerous nieces and nephews and best friend Bill Gill. He was predeceased by numerous brothers. All services will be private.
