Thomaston Mrs. Georgina (Ciafrei) Moore, 90, passed away on Sunday, August 14, at Valerie Manor in Torrington. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald Z. Moore. Georgina was born in Trenton, New Jersey on February 1, 1932, daughter of the late Frederico and Teresa (Angelini) Ciafrei. She was employed by Kmart for many years, retiring from Watertown Kmart as a payroll clerk. Though they lived in many places over the course of their marriage, Georgina and Don settled in Thomaston in 1985. Where she tended to her grandchildren and gardens. Georgina loved to dance, the ocean, the hills of New England and her gardens, but her grandchildren were the light of her life . Georgina is survived by two daughters, Teressa M. Bocci and her husband Anthony of Thomaston and Coleen M. Cartelli and her husband Anthony of Barkhamsted; one brother, Dominic Ciafrei of PA; four grandchildren, Carolyn Zybura and her husband Jack, Christopher Cartelli and his wife Roza Temam, David Bocci and his wife Bailey and Paul Bocci; six great-grandchildren, Ozil Cartelli, Bilisumma Cartelli, Iftu Cartelli, Hawi Cartelli, Lili Zybura and Zoey Zybura and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Anthony Ciafrei, James Ciafrei, George Ciafrei, Victor Ciafrei, Lucy Smith, Beatrice DeAngelis, Robert Ciafrei and Gene Ciafrei. The Family would like to thank all her caregivers at Valerie Manor, especially Darwin, Lori and Sabra. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 27, at 11:00 A.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. Friends may visit with Georginas family from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
