Geraldine L. (Riphenburg) Butler- 90, formerly of Jackson Street, died Saturday December 19, 2009 at Cook Willow Health Care of Plymouth after a long illness. She was the widow of Russell Butler. Geraldine was born in New York to the late Reuben and Goldie Riphenburg on August 29, 1919. She was a homemaker and enjoyed watching the kids from the neighborhood along with her grandchildren and spent time crocheting. Geraldine loved traveling with her husband. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Plymouth. She is survived by a son Michael Sr. and his wife Carolyn of Thomaston, a sister Barbara Snyder of NY, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, William and most recently Mitchell. A grandson Michael Butler Jr. also predeceased her. Arrangements: A calling hour will be held Tuesday from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High Street, Thomaston. A service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Burial will be in the spring at Hillside Cemetery in Thomaston.
