Mrs. Irene Teresa Thomson Thomaston Irene Thomson, 91, of Stumpf Ave., died Friday, October 10, 2008 while visiting her daughters home. She was the widow of Harry Thomson, Jr. Mrs. Thomson was born July 16, 1917 in Terryville, to the late Louis and Frances (Niesiobedzki) Bogdanski. She worked for many years at the Thomaston Glass Factory then became a waitress at Joes Bakery. In her earlier years Irene was an excellent seamstress and made her own clothing. During her 49 years of marriage, Irene and Harry traveled all over the U.S and parts of Canada. She was proud of being Miss Columbus in 1936. She was an active member of St. Thomas Church of Thomaston involved in church affairs and had been the Treasurer of Daughters of Isabella. She is survived by a daughter Fran and her husband Robert Schechter of New Canaan, CT, three grandchildren, Ethan, Leah and Sarah Schechter, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by a son Brian Thomson, and two brothers; George and Theodore Bogdanski. Arrangements: The funeral will be held at 10:00 A.M. directly at St. Thomas Church, Tuesday, October 14th. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Lyons Funeral Home has care of the arrangements.
