Mrs. Jeanne Marie (McMahon) Belonick
Terryville - Jeanne Marie Belonick, 47, of Wolcott Rd., passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at her home while surrounded by her family, after a two year battle with ovarian cancer. She was the beloved wife to Richard Belonick.
Jeanne was born in Waterbury on December 19, 1963 to Eugene and Patricia (McCarthy) McMahon of Thomaston. She was a graduate of St. Paul High School located in Bristol. Jeanne was a communicant at St. Thomas Church of Thomaston. For many years she took care of the children that were born into the family as she had a love to be around them and felt as though she provided the best care for them. She most recently worked for Bobs Store as a customer service supervisor. During her life, Jeanne loved to express how proud she was of her children and had a tremendous bond with Richie. She enjoyed watching her children play sports, gardening at home, watching the Boston Red Sox, and shopping, especially at QVC. Jeanne cherished the time she spent with her family vacationing at Cape Cod. Any one that met Jeanne knew right away that her favorite color was purple.
Besides her parents and husband, she will be sorely missed by her daughter, Amy M. Belonick and her son, Matthew R. Belonick, both of Terryville, brothers, Paul, his wife Maureen and their children, Owen, Luke and Jack McMahon of Thomaston, Dennis, his wife Rose and their daughter Kelly McMahon of Torrington, Robert, his wife Sue and their children Michael, Sean and Molly of Bristol. Also her Mother- in- law, Celia Belonick of Thomaston, a brother-in-law, Jack Belonick of Vietnam, two sister-in-laws, Jill Moore and her children, Timothy and Sterling of Waterbury, Karen, and her husband Lito and their children, Paul and Allan Tablan of Wolcott. Jeanne was pre deceased by her brothers, Martin, Edward and Thomas. She was also pre deceased by her father-in-law, John Belonick.
Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 16, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High Street, Thomaston with a prayer service held at 7:30pm. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made, in her name to: Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, 14 Pennsylvania Plaza, Suite 1400, New York, NY 10122 and/or VNA Healthcare, HOPE Team, 50 Brookside Rd, Waterbury, CT 06708.
