Bantam- Mrs. Jennifer "GeeGee" (Wellman) Sklenka, 54, died Sunday, July 7, at the New York Presbyterian Hospital. She was the wife of Steven T. Sklenka. Jennifer was born April 4, 1959 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Arnold F. and Alice F. (Ryan) Wellman, Sr. She was raised in Plymouth and was a graduate of Terryville High School. A lifelong love of gardening led her to a career working for local greenhouses including the former Connecticut Cut Flower in Bantam and the Salisbury Garden Center. She eventually went to work for herself, maintaining and creating beautiful gardens throughout Litchfield County. Jennifer also enjoyed baking, bird watching, hiking, and her cats. In addition to her husband she is survived by one brother, Arnold F. Wellman, Jr; two sisters, Shelly OConnell and Marianne Wellman; four nieces; six nephews; Two great-niece; four great-nephews, and one step daughter. Arrangements: All services are private. Arrangements are in the care of the Lyons Funeral Home of Thomaston.
