Thomaston- Mrs. Joan M. (Knapp) Scully, died Wednesday evening, September 24, at Torrington Health and Rehabilitation. She was the widow of Roger A. Scully, Sr. Mrs. Scully was born June 29, 1932 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Theodore A. and Edith (Payne) Knapp, Sr. Raised in Thomaston she was a graduate of Thomaston High School class of 1950. She had been employed at Summit Finishing, Harper Leader and the American Chemical Company. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen M. Blanchette and her husband Ray of Torrington; her son Roger A. Scully, Jr; two brothers, Ted A. Knapp, Jr. of CA and Richard Knapp of Canaan; three sisters, Edith Ackerman of Kent, Janice Barbeiri of GA and Linda DeLong of Goshen and five grandchildren, Tammy Braeur, Ryan Scully, Joshua Scully, Adam Scully and Shane Scully. She was predeceased by her son, Robert J. Scully and her granddaughter, Ashley Kozlosky. Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 30, at 12:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.
