Thomaston - Mr. John L. Booth, 71, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, at his home. He was the husband of Janice (Hoethke) Booth.
John was born February 9, 1945 in Waterbury, son of the late Chandler W. and Catherine (Garbera) Booth. John was lifelong resident of Thomaston and had served honorably in the United States Army. He was a life member and past commander of the VFW Post 5157 in Watertown and was a member of the American Legion Clifford-French Post 22 in Thomaston. He had worked for many years in the automotive upholstery business. He will be remembered for his love of cooking, hunting and trips to Vermont. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, pool, darts and cribbage with his friends.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by two sons, Bryan Booth and Jeffrey Booth, both of Thomaston; two daughters, Patricia Calhoun and Robin Kass, both of FL; three brothers, Carl Booth, Chandler Booth and Clyde Booth; five grandchildren, Tanika, Bryce, Ayden, Migdalia and Khloee; two great-grandchildren, Kiley and Aleeah and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 31, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. Burial will be private.
