Waterbury Karen E. Maloney, 78, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021. Karen was born in Waterbury on March 14, 1943, daughter of the late William and Gladys "Winnifred" (Lindsay) Kobryn. She was raised in Thomaston and was a graduate of Thomaston High. Karen leaves behind her daughters, Kelly Shaw and her husband Tom; Jody Williams; Robin Graham, and her husband Hugh; and Tracy Schiffmiller, and her husband Mark; her siblings, William "Billy" Kobryn, and his wife Carol; Winnifred (Winnie) Acker; Keith Kobryn, and his wife Irene; Kathie Kobryn; and Kris Kobryn; her beloved grandchildren, Paige Maloney, Stephanie & Courtney Graham, Lauren Crowe and Thomas Shaw; several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Services for Karen were held privately. The family sends their deepest gratitude to the staff of the Middlebury Convalescent Home and VITAS Healthcare for the wonderful care they gave Karen.
