Thomaston Kenneth Owen Fox Jr., 68, of High Street Extension, died sundenly, Sunday, September 9, 2007 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband to Barbara (Taft) Fox.
Mr. Fox was born May 22, 1939 in Patterson, New Jersey, son of the late Kenneth Owen and Frances (Durgy) Fox.
Kenneth moved to Thomaston in 1951 and helped operate the Fox-Hop Poultry Farm. He was a graduate of Thomaston High School, was a lifelong member of the Thomaston Fish and Game club and was a faithful NASCAR and Red Sox fan. Ken will be greatly missed by his best friends Richie and Rickard and always be remembered for putting family first. Kenneth worked at the Thomaston Post Office for thirty years before retiring, he then delivered newspapers for the Waterbury-Republican for sixteen years. He spent many family vacations on York Beach in Maine where he loved to watch his children and grandchildren grow. Also he was a member of the United Methodist Church of Thomaston. .
He is survived by three sons; Kenneth Owen Fox III of Thomaston, Steven and Penelope Fox of Thomaston, Scott D. and Debra Fox of Thomaston, two daughters, Susan and Jeffery Peterson of Thomaston, Dawn and Robert Stager of New Hampshire, a brother, John D. and Georgina Fox of Thomaston, two sisters, Judith Fleezer of Morris, Mary Gloade of Thomaston, nine grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Nancy Kennedy.
Arrangements: Friends may meet directly at the United Methodist Church of Thomaston on Thursday for a service at 7:00 P.M. Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High Street, has care of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to: Thomaston Volunteer Ambulance Corp., Main Street, Thomaston, CT.
