Obituary

Mr. Kirk Newkirk Terryville Kirk Newkirk, 30, of Main Street, died Tuesday January 30, 2007 at his home. He was the companion of Dawn Cliff for ten years. Mr. Newkirk was born September 15, 1976, in Waterbury, CT to Erwin H. Newkirk Jr. of Waterbury and Alexandra (Makovkin) Foster of Thomaston. He was a graduate of E.C. Goodwin Technical H.S. Kirk was a welder for Salsco in Cheshire. He enjoyed mountain-biking, hiking, building 4X4s, restoring cars, snowboarding and especially spending time with his son. Besides his companion and parents, he is survived by a son; Logan Alexander Newkirk, a step father Brian M. Foster, a step brother; Brian J. Foster of Thomaston, a step sister, Jessica Foster of Terryville, a maternal step grandmother Susan Makovkin of California, several Uncles, Aunts and cousins. Arrangements: A funeral will be held Monday at 10:00 A.M. directly at the Congregational Church in Thomaston. Burial will be in the spring, at Hillside Cemetery in Thomaston. Calling hours will be Sunday at Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston from 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M... Memorial contributions may be made to the Logan A. Newkirk memorial fund, c/o Thomaston Savings Bank, P.O. Box 907, Thomaston, CT 06787.
