Thomaston- Mr. Leroy F. Ryan, 88, of Woodruff Ave. died Friday evening, May 2 at Cook Willow Convalescent Home in Plymouth. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (McCoy) Ryan.
Mr. Ryan was born December 25, 1919 in Thomaston son of the late John and Augusta (Hart) Ryan. A lifelong resident of Thomaston he attended local schools and was a graduate of Thomaston High School class of 1937. He had been employed at Seth Thomas Clock Co. for 30 years and for the past 13 years worked at Pattis Place. He was a former member of the Columbus Boys Club Fife and Drum Corp. in the 1930s, the Liederkranz, and was a former member of the Thomaston Volunteer Fire Department. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathleen M. Ryan of Coventry and Eileen M. Ryan of Mansfield; one grandson, Matthew Ryan Zenko and all his friends from Pattis Place. He was predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence and John "Wink" and four sisters, Doris, Grace, Lillian and Ann.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 6 at 9:00 A.M. from the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston to St. Thomas Church for mass of Christian burial at 9:30 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
