Austin, Texas - Loraine (Cote) Magee, 49 formerly of Thomaston, passed away peacefully at her home on Sept. 21, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Kevin Magee.
Loraine was born in Waterbury, on March 4, 1966, youngest daughter of Raymond and Rollande (Denis) Cote. She was a graduate of Thomaston High School and received a bachelors degree at Southern Conn. State University. She grew up in Thomaston before moving to Texas about 19 years ago. She worked for the public safety department in Austin. She also taught CCD and was involved with cub scouts with her son Seth. In Connecticut Loraine loved singing in the folk group at St Thomas Church in Thomaston. In 1975 she became the March of Dimes poster child and got to meet Gov. Ella Grosso.
Along with her husband and parents she is survived by her son, Seth Magee of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Denise Weik and her husband Kevin of Morris, and Adrianne Cote and her husband Don Dimitratos of Tracy, CA; three brothers, Stephen Cote and his wife Lori of Plymouth, William Cote and his wife Leslie of Burlington and Andre Cote of Torrington; nine nieces and nephews, and seven great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two brothers, Ronald and Donald Cote and a sister-in-law Barbara Cote.
A calling Hour will be held from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 3, at Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston. A funeral mass will follow at St. Thomas Church at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. T
