Thomaston - Louis J. Tanuis, Sr, 62, passed away on Monday, January 26. Louis was born December 3, 1952 in Bethlehem, son of the late Akle and Laura (Slocum) Tanuis. Louis retired in 2000 after working in car sales for twenty five years. Louis loved riding motorcycles but above anything he loved spending quality time with his two grandchildren, Alexis and Kain. Louis was so proud of his children, Louis, Heather and Travis. He is survived by Patti Tanuis, his son Louis J. Tanuis, Jr; daughter, Heather A. Tanuis, son Travis C. Tanuis, son Jamie Nolan; daughter, Heidi Greguoli; grandchildren, Alexis M. Gousby and Kain J. Tanuis; siblings, Denise Morelli, Rosemary Wheeler, Richard Tanuis and Harold Tanuis; many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his brothers, Akle C. Tanuis and Theodore Tanuis. "Dedicated to his Brotherhood of Bikers" May the sun rise in front of me, the rain fall behind me and the wind follow me. May the angels guard my travels for they know what is ahead of me. Keep me safe through rolling hills and swirling turns. Let the eagle guide me to the mountain tops. Let the moons light guide me through the night. Lord thank you for letting me be a biker. Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 3, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 4, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Marons Church 613 Main St. Torrington. Friends are asked to meet at church. Burial will be private.
