Torrington - Lucille E. MacRoberts, 93, died on October 11, 2013 at the Torrington Health and Rehab Center.
Lucille was born in Thomaston on November 25, 1919, daughter of the late John and Ruby (Jacques) MacRoberts and resided in Thomaston until the age of 91. She attended Thomaston Public Schools and graduated from high school as Valedictorian of her class. She retired from the Hallden Machine Company in 1988 after many years of service in accounting. Lucille was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church in Thomaston where she served in many capacities. She was an associate member of the Thomaston Womans Club, a member of the Thomaston Senior Citizens Council and the Thomaston Historical Society, and an associate member of the Thomaston Public Library.
Lucille is survived by several generations of cousins and precious friends.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Emeritus of Litchfield Hills, Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington Health and Rehab Center, and the VNA Northwest for their compassionate care of Lucille.
A celebration of her life will be held at the First Congregational Church of Thomaston on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with a reception to follow in the church hall. Burial will be private.
