Obituary

Thomaston Luke Benjamin Sanford, 32, of Thomaston, went home unexpectedly to be with the Lord on August 8, 2022. Luke was born on October 20, 1989 in Torrington to Joanne (Innes) Aylott and the late Richard Sanford Jr. Luke was many things; a son, father, brother, grandson, friend, cousin, storyteller, hard worker, and more. He was always a kind and genuine person with a big heart. Most recently Luke started his own company, Northwest Hills Excavation LLC., with his brother which was a huge accomplishment. Luke enjoyed connecting with friends and family, lifting weights, running heavy equiptment, listening to music, fishing, and reading scripture throughout his life. Luke is survived by his son, Luke Aaron Sanford; his mother, Joanne and step-father Chris Aylott; his siblings, Paige Nelson and her husband Christian, Alan Sanford, and Derek Aylott as well as step-siblings, Daniella Alves and her husband Tony, Nicole and Curtiss Aylott; his maternal grandmother, Shirley Innes; his paternal grandparents, Richard Sr. and Patricia Sanford; his paternal great grandmother Violet Kentana; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Richard Sanford Jr., his uncle Benjamin Sanford, his great grandfather Robert 'Pop' Kentana, and his maternal grandfather Harry Innes. Family and friends may call on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St. Thomaston. A service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Burial is private.
