Thomaston- Mrs. Madolyn Elizabeth (Winters) Jacobs, 87, died Wednesday, August 30, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was the widow of George Jacobs.
Mrs. Jacobs was born June 29, 1924 in Thomaston daughter of the late Jonathan "Winkie" and Emma Winters. Raised in Thomaston she had attended local schools and was a graduate of Thomaston High School. Madolyn had been employed at Seth Thomas Clock as a secretary to the president and for many years as the office manager for Dr. Robert Good in Waterbury. She enjoyed raising her children, cooking, sewing, reading, gardening and creating floral arrangements. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Church.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Jacobs of Roxbury and Ronny Jacobs of Bristol; two sisters, Patricia McGrady of Bristol and Maureen Herrington of FL; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband George, two sons, Robert and Randy and one sister Beverly Digamis.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 7, at 12:00 P.M. (Noon) at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. Burial of cremains will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M. until time of service.
