Thomaston - Marjoh (Williamson) Velletri passed away peacefully on Tuesday (October 13, 2015). She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on December 19, 1936, the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Cameron) Williamson. She grew up in New Jersey and married Joseph Velletri on December 14, 1957.
Together they moved to Thomaston in 1972 with their 5 children.
After moving to Connecticut and after her youngest child started school, Marjoh began working at Seth Thomas Clocks. Later, she worked as a Patient Advocate at Waterbury Hospital. She retired 25 years later, well respected and remembered for her kindness in helping patients and their families through their difficulties.
Marjoh always put her family first. She is best remembered for her Sunday dinners, poolside, her spectacular desserts, and her beautiful gardens. She loved vacationing at Long Beach Island. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren and watching them grow up.
Marjoh is survived by her children, Bruce Velletri and his wife Laura of Groton, John Velletri and his wife Dr. Diane Pope of West Hartford, Peter Velletri of King of Prussia, PA, and Caroline Wilson and her husband Richard of Thomaston. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, Amy Novak and her husband Adam, Robert Velletri and his wife Shannon, Amanda Thompson and her husband Adam, Bryson, Haley, Nicholas, Alexander, Abigail Velletri, Jonathan Wilson and Andrew Fuchella. She is also survived by a brother, Robert Williamson and his wife Maryann and a sister Jane Wooden and her husband Paul. Marjoh is predeceased by her husband, the man of her dreams, Joseph Velletri, her best friend and sister, Judith Eva, and her beloved son Joseph Velletri.
Calling hours will be held Friday morning, October 16th, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Funeral services will follow at The First Congregational Church of Thomaston, Main St., Thomaston at 12:30. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
