Mrs. Mary Ann R. (Kilman) Brown Thomaston - Mary Ann Brown, 74, of Center Street, died January 31, 2009 at home with her family at her side, after a brief battle with cancer. She was the widower of Robert J. Brown. Mrs. Brown was born March 24, 1934, in Thomaston, daughter of the late Martha (Krasnowski). She was raised in Thomaston and retired from Tech Systems in Thomaston as a secretary. Mary Ann was a long time communicant at St. Thomas Church and at one point sewed garments for the Priest. Quilting and sewing was a major part of her life as was watching the UCONN basketball games and bowling with her daughters on Tuesdays. She is survived by a son Robert T. Brown of FLA., five daughters, Lynda Avoletta of Watertown, Susan Polzella of Terryville, Kathleen Maisto of Waterbury, Polly and Elizabeth Brown both of Thomaston, five half brothers, John Brown of Thomaston, Doug Brown of Bristol, Christopher Brown, Lincoln Brown and Daniel Brown all of Torrington, a half sister Christine Marshall of Torrington, fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at Lyons Funeral Home 46 High Street, Thomaston. A procession to follow to St. Thomas Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in the spring at St. Thomas Cemetery.
