Thomaston- Mrs. Miriam "Mim" (Hanson) Johnston, 88, died Friday evening, November 9 at Haven Health Care in Torrington. She was the widow of Phillip Johnston.
Mrs. Johnston was born March 14, 1919 in Washington DC, daughter of the late Frank and Felicia (Williams) Hanson. Raised in Waterbury she was a graduate of Crosby High School, attended the American International College in Springfield, MA and was a graduate of the Waterbury Hospital Nursing School. She had worked as a nurse at the Waterbury Hospital and Cook Willow Convalescent Home in Plymouth. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Thomaston and had been a member of the choir.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan Taube and her husband Erle of Naples, FL, Janice Johnston of Waterbury and Deborah Eldred and her husband Harold of Thomaston and one grandson, Brandon.
Arrangements: A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 14 at 10:00 A.M. at the Hillside Cemetery, Thomaston followed by a memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at the First Congregational Church of Thomaston.
