Thomaston- Mr. Alex Bystry, 87, died Thursday evening, July 22, at the Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Norreen (Tierney) Bystry.
Mr. Bystry was born January 7, 1923 in Thomaston son of the late Josef and Helen (Bortko) Bystry Sr. Raised in Thomaston he was a graduate of Thomaston High School and had retired from the Torrington Company Thomaston Division. He had served honorably in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Clifford French Post 22 in Thomaston and was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge # 372 in Torrington. He loved to travel with his wife in the United States and abroad.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one step-sister, Helen DAddabbo of Bristol and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and two step-sisters.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 26, at 10:00 A.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. Burial with full military honors will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Terryville. Calling hours are Sunday, July 25, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
