Northfield- Mr. Anthony J. Malaspina, beloved husband of Lois (Wilkins) Malaspina, passed into eternal rest on October 18, 2014. He was 87 years old.
Anthony, the middle son of three, was born on June 12, 1927 to Joseph and Angelina (DelGrosso) Malaspina. Anthony was educated in Waterbury and was a graduate of Leavenworth High School.
At the age of 17, Anthony was drafted to serve in WWII. He found himself on a troop ship passing through the Panama Canal en-route to the Philippine Islands. While there he served in a clerical position processing Japanese prisoners.
Returning to the States, Anthony attended and graduated from UCONN, class of 1951 with a degree in electrical engineering. His specialty was magnetics and spent more than 55 years designing hybrid transformers. Anthony was a lifetime member if the IEEE Society.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his elder brother, Dominic E. Malaspina and younger brother Joseph R. Malaspina; three nephews and one niece and their families.
Private graveside services were held at the Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury
